The Elysian is a landmark building at the Gateway to Cork City. Set on three acres of grounds, with a seventeen storey high tower as its focal point, the Elysian is the tallest building in Cork and Ireland. The heart of the development is the podium gardens, a magnificent space with a level of landscaping as yet unseen in Cork City. Lush planting, mature specimen trees, stone, water cascades and a central sculpture of copper all come together to provide an oasis in the heart of the City. The landscaping is by the team that designed and built the multiple Gold Award winning Irish Garden in the World Expo 90 in Osaka, Japan.
Designed by Wilson Architecture, the Elysian heralds a new dawn in Irish architecture, a new confidence in urban development and a new scale of imagination when it comes to creating luxury living spaces in a 21st century city environment. Since its completion in mid 2008, The Elysian stands like a beacon above the city. By day it reflects the sun and sky and by night it twinkles with a myriad of lights. The proportions of the building are pleasing, with subtle changes of shape and external finish until finally reaching skyward with a dramatic flourish.
The apartment interiors are designed by internationally renowned design group Taylor Howes Designs of London and the overall development consists of 211 luxury apartments including 37 penthouses. The development boasts unparalleled views of a vibrant city, waterways and winding streets.
The Elysian won the Irish Residential Property of the Year Award.
